About Me

I’m always curious about other beaders, so I figured that I’d go ahead and tell you a little about me.

My name is Gail Nettles, and I’ve been an avid jewelry collector almost all my life (except maybe my corporate “dress for success” phase).  Shiny or matte, metal or natural, complicated or simple — I just love beads!  And jewelry.  And making beaded jewelry.

Now I’ve named the website “Beaded Jewelry Diva”, but it’s not because I consider myself a jewelry diva — I’ll leave that up to you to decide.  But gosh, all the good names were taken, and this one struck my fancy.  So Beaded Jewelry Diva it was (and is).

I live in South Florida, happily married and with furry children (cats).  No people children, though.  And as dear hubby can attest, I am intrigued, amazed and delighted with beads!

My penchant for jewelry has led me to explore wirework, viking knit, beadweaving, stringing, bead embroidery, polymer clay and lampwork beads.  All have been very satisfying in their own ways, and I wear all kinds of jewerlry, to suit my whims.  From simple to fancy, I’ve made all kinds.

I also love to teach others how to make jewelry — there’s something satisfying about showing someone how to make a piece of jewelry they can proudly wear and enjoy.

So I hope you enjoy this site.  Take a look around, read some of the free tutorials, maybe buy one of the non-free tutorials, and enjoy the videos.  Take care, and get beading!
